Tae Kim - Financial Tortoise

Hi, if you're new to my videos my name is Tae Kim. As the name of this channel implies, I believe in getting rich slowly. Slow and steady is the name of the game and I firmly believe in this mantra. In the fable tortoise and the hare, the tortoise didn’t win because he was fast. He won because though he was slow, he was steady with his progress. And I firmly believe that the same lesson can be applied to our wealth building.

I'm horrified to realize that other people don't consider these items multi-use. Why on earth throw things away when you already know you're going to need them again??? Mind blown.

Straight and to the point. These lessons are solid!
one of my favorite UA-cam channels.
Achei bem interessante. As dicas não foram as clichês, foram bem diferentes.
you are the king
Holy bots
Love It, thanks Tae!
Can i do two conversions 1 me 1 wife. We both have earned income and file taxes jointly
Warren Buffett is know to buy Treasury bills every Monday.
Love your videos! I'm curious as to why you chose not to include traditional IRAs in this list.
I judge deadbeat parents
👏👏👏
Im turning this year and omg i feel old.
Yes you are right!
Which task tracker app do you use? Do you use a physical whiteboard or a digital whiteboard app (if so, which one)?
76 and purchased bag of chips. Now in the trash
Thanks for this video, great advice.
Very good video and, in the context of Apple boxes, they are especially useful if you intend to sell the products at a later date. The next owner is usually much more inclined to buy from you if, firstly, the product has been well maintained and is still in mint condition, and secondly, if it comes in its original packaging with the accompanying printed materials.
thank you! Great content
I appreciate your content. Have you considered the Fidelity NASDAQ Composite Index Fund (FNCMX)? It may have a slightly higher expense ratio but performs higher than the S&P 500 and Total Market funds.
Unfortunately, blending greens undoes a lot of their benefit
What do you think of alternatives like SPUS? They help filter out over leveraged companies, etc
If you're experiencing analysis paralysis about what funds to buy, ratios of each fund, and how/when to rebalance, consider Vanguard's Total World Fund (VT/VTWAX), which features the entire US market and a diversified blend of international stocks. It's roughly 60% VTI 40% VXUS, but the ratio shifts gradually depending of performance of stocks between VTI and VXUS.
I don't have one single item from this video, and I'm not missing anything 🤣
Day trading is glorified gambling. DON'T DO IT PEOPLE.
I’m telling you. My bro in law made 25k in 4 months but dude literally became a different person over that time. When I visited he would not get off the phone.
Great video. Surely, it is the most standard and logical way to build wealth without too many liabilities. Discipline is the fearful enemy when utilizing this strategy.
do you still recommend investing in Vanguard bond ETF BND?
I have a question. I have gotten myself into way to much debt, between job loses ,separation and unexpected expenses I'm about 37000 in debt on cards. Now I have one card 24000 that has a 45 000 limit. Would it make sense to move all the other credit debit to that one card. All the intest rates are roughly the same around 13 percent. I have 3 other cards so 4 all togther. I don't qualify for a loan at this time. Or will doing this just make my situation worse
I’m trying to keep up with all these promos and games the excitement doesn’t end on 4rabet
Loving the vibes on 4rabet the winning bets keep rolling in how’s everyone else doing this season
Verification on 4RABT is so quick. No issues at all. Placed a few more bets, can’t wait for the t20wc!
Totally! Just backed Australia on 4RABeT. The odds are great and the live betting feature is fantastic. Fingers crossed
Yes! Loving the fast withdrawals and easy deposits on 4RABAT. Betting on India, hope they win ths t20wc
Live betting on 4RABeT is so exciting! Placed 30 bets and entered the Samsung S24 draw Anyone else betting live?
I cant believe I will be 77 this year! Hurts
Great video, thanks…😊
Yeah outsource these to the kids lol
I think you have answered my question in the video. It's best to invest in one ( Whole Life Insurance). Thank you.
I am unemployed, but receive a small amount of money as allowance from my spouse. I would like to be able to withdraw sometimes from an insurance policy to spend on expenses. Is a good idea to have both Term and Permanent life insurances? Thanks.
Excellent video thank you!!!
As someone who didn’t get started on any kind of financial planning or saving until 40, this video was a huge boost to reassure me that I’m well on my way. Thank you!
I would love to hear your thoughts on what some of the key elements to hit during these conversations are!
Appreciate the video; only criticism is the tax bracket comment which is too simplistic. That high earner is paying significantly less than 37%.
Without a doubt, this year will be worse than the last. I lost a lot of money last year as a result of bad investment choices that I would not have made if I hadn't been so worried about my portfolio. I kept investing, but I couldn't determine whether to start paying for a house. In the end, I sold my positions, and the house needed more work than I had planned. I'm not sure how long I can keep going like this
We've all made mistakes at some point. You should consider financial planning
True. My portfolio was diversified across several markets with the help of a financial planner, and were able to achieve over a million in net profit among high dividend yield equities, ETFs, and bonds. It is vital that you have a variety of exposure, including in firms that are currently generating cash flows.
Do you mind sharing your financial planner ?

You are most likely to find more info when you look her up
so I can foresee for my scenario, as I am 62 now, in 8 years when I retire then, my income will be very low with just social security around 2K monthly and small 401K like 90K mostly from initial rollover from old employers and some gains beyond today but who knows what that will be- so then my taxable income and tax bracket will very low in retirement right (or how is that calculated using the whole 90K every year or just what I am withdrawing??). - So better to be taxed at that low bracket in retirement and choose a trad IRA and trad 401K now? And then get a tax deduction within these 8 years working at the higher taxable income bracket as I earn around 106K? Is my thinking correct?? Too much math for me... This seems to keep saying you are going to have more taxable income in retirement rather than when working a well paying job - so is this based on people who have large amounts in IRAs/401K's that are more than one's annual salary income tax bracket? But I thought it was just taxed on the withdrawals not all you have in there. So confused for us folks who really don't have much at all in any funds and only have a few years left before retirement and hoping social security will get us by in say Mexico...
Everyone loves the SP500 but it didn’t make a dollar from 1998 to 2009. Would you have held on for 11 years? Probably not.
